How do I keep my baby boy from getting my baby girl pregnant?

rrlejllealfamily asked:

My baby boy is a full blooded maltese and also has a pedigree. My baby girl is a shih tzu with the same back ground. We are not ready to spay or neuter them because when they are older we want to breed them with my sister’s dog which is a girl maltese and boy shih tzu.

Try to keep them away from each other most of the time an keep a close eye on them so they wont try when your back is turned

Spay/Neuter Pedigree doesn’t equal quality…It takes years of hard work, money, effort, and heartache to produce a dog that is truly worthy of breeding…Proving your dog in the show ring, genetic and health testing are just some of the things that must happen to ensure quality healthy puppies.

  • netdiva_amy:

Get them fixed. There are enough puppies in shelters.

there is no way to keep them from causing pregnancy for sure unless they are kept separate from each other at all times. even if your male shows no interest in the female as of now there is no guarantee. but honestly i would get them spayed and neutered because there are already millions of homeless dogs in the world and breeding more just aggravates the problem. then your female can live a happy life without the possible complications and dangers of childbirth

A pedigree is no more then a family tree.
I could write on a peice of paper my recue dogs parents name and their parents name and so forth it doesn’t make a difference, pedigree doesn’t mean quality.

    Keep them seperated.

Spaying and neutering is the way to roll :)

I think that I just answered this question. Let’s do a little copy and paste. Okay, don’t laugh. When my female was in heat I would put on a disposable diaper and a onesie. The diaper would keep her from spotting places that I did not want her to spot and would keep the male from getting to her. The onesie would prevent her and/or the male from removing the diaper. Don’t know what a onsie is, check out the link.

please do spay and neuter your dogs…. there are already so many dogs in shelters….

  • ggrotke:

It’s very simple: When either female is in heat, trade your female to your sister for her male! That way both males will not be driven crazy by the female’s scent when she is in heat.

It is very easy to tell when they are coming into heat. The male’s behavior is a very reliable indicator! Then you just pack up your female, take her to your sister’s house, and bring back her male. Or vice versa. Two weeks later they go back to having opposite *** roommates. Or maybe you and your sister can take turns hosting the females when one or both is in heat. They can be a bit drippy on the carpet and furniture. Might be nice not to have to deal with it every time.

A pedigree doesn’t necessarily mean either your dogs or your sister’s dogs are suitable quality to breed.

Have all the dogs got health certificates and titles. Are the lines of the dogs complimentary to eachother so you minimize faults and maximise good points?.
If the answer is no then you get your baby boy neutered and your baby girl spayed and suggest to your sister she does the same.

My dogs are pedigree dogs from excellent lines but I don’t show so they are not titled. They are spayed and neutered.

Tie a rubber band around his weiner, that’ll stop him.

  • Rayne:

Please get them spayed and neutered. It’s an awful thing to add to the ever growing population of animals stuck in shelters. Don’t add to this problem. Leave the breeding up to registered and established breeders that are certified.
